Why Rip Your Strip? PDF Print E-mail

Did you know that in Utah nearly 70% of our water is used outdoors—and that almost half of that is used to overwater lawns? By simply designing and managing our yards in a way more suited to our climate, we could save billions of gallons a year!

rippedstrip.jpg Your parking strip is a great place to begin saving water outdoors. It’s hard to water, and even harder to water efficiently. Most homeowners just let the water flow in the hope that their never-touched grass will stay green—flooding the sidewalk and street in the process.

By converting your pesky park strip into a beautiful, drought tolerant area, you not only save precious gallons of water, but you familiarize yourself with low water-use landscaping.
